THE NEW STANDARD
Engineers from wsb and ggg were involved in the design and layout of several new road projects. The stormwater catch basins specified a hybrid flexible elastomer applied over the grade adjusting rings and the mortar around the inverts and pipe penetrations.
THE APPLICATION
36 catch basins 2’ x 3’ x 4’ were pressure washed and allowed to dry. Cladprimer was applied to all surfaces receiving the cladseal. Cladseal was trowel applied to ¼” thickness lapping over the casting, adjusting rings and into the vault. It was also troweled around the pipe penetrations and inverts.
A FINAL LOOK
Kevin kuisle, city of rochester senior engineering technician, said they are taking this proactive approach to protect the structures from freeze thaw cycles and the harmful effects of deicers.
